Senior Airport Planner - Consultancy

Our International Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for well experienced consultant Senior Airport Planner to join their team in Kuwait at an Airport project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Airport Planner on large scale Airport projects in the GCC.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Airport planning is about the efficient master-planning, construction, development, and operation of airports. An airport should be constructed and operated based on certain set of standards and implementation of all the regulations defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
• An airport planner’s major scope is:
• Preparing the overall master plan of an airport including infrastructure, building and facilities.
• Preparing a master plan with phasing of development, i.e., base line of short term, mid-term and long term.
• Developing layouts to explain how much area will be assigned to each section of the airport.
• Checking that during the whole process of development or construction, no harm is done to the surrounding areas and the environment as well.
• Providing a schedule for the execution of airport development process and the approximate budget required for it. The airport planner should verify all the details, ensure accuracy of facts and figures and also that it is feasible for consideration.
• Evaluating the operations of the airport and suggesting additions for the airport to manage the increasing traffic of passengers, cargo and flights.
• Involving in the monitoring of effects of airports on the environment and suggesting measures to minimize any harmful effects to the environment.
• Finalizing production of documents, plans and reports. 9. Coordinating with sub-consultants and in-house technical personnel on regular basis to complete targeted tasks.
• Producing graphics associated with public meetings, presentation drawings, reports, etc.
• Using technical software to perform project analysis.

Senior Airport Planner Experience:

•  A degree in Aeronautical Engineering, and a closely related courses and/or experience in airport master planning, development, and operations management.
• Vast work experience of no less than 10 years is necessary in airports capable of handling 10mln + PAX p/a
• Highly experienced in airport master planning.
• Well versed with airport operation management (concept of operation).
• Knowledgeable with the latest rules and policies defined by the regulatory authorities; internal and external.
• Proficient in using AutoCAD and other applications (planning/scheduling) required to develop architectural drawings and time schedule.
• Skilled in project management and managing inhouse team of experts through effective leadership.
• Manage unexpected and emergency situations efficiently without letting it affect workflows.
• Well experienced in analysis and projection of trends in regional air traffic and networks
