Senior Architect - Contractor

Our multi national Construction Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior Architect to join their team in Bahrain at a prestigious new project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Architect on major projects in the Bahrain and the wider GCC working for a major Contracting business working on residential and commercial projects.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a permanent hire role direct with our client.


Key Responsibilities:

  • The role of the Senior Architect requires the successful applicant to run a portfolio of projects independently, adhere, enforce and maintain agreed standards. The Senior Architect is an active and integral member of the management structure.
  • Enquiries and proposals
  • Assist senior management team in providing all necessary information required in order to submit fee proposals
  • Review fee proposals to understand and be fully aware of scope and deliverables
  • Provide full and detailed appraisal of project requirements as issued by client
  • Take sole ownership of draft design brief and present for comment and approval prior to beginning next stage.
  • Set up full project programme with Project Management
  • Work with concept department to realise deliverables on time and within budget
  • Work with Project Manager to develop cost/time chart based on project deliverables, required resources and agreed programme
  • Client liaison and stakeholder management.
  • Sub-consultant liaison, agreeing deliverables, scope and timescales
  • Ensure project tracking schedule is current, monitored and submitted on a weekly basis
  • Manage any value engineering and make client aware of potential variations to consultancy agreement
  • Orchestrate detailed design package, review progress daily with Senior Architect, and resolve all outstanding issues where client input is required
  • Decide objectives for Architects and Project Architects and track
  • Adopt clients leadership style - based on teamwork, helpfulness and hard work
  • Ensure that all staff are aware of Company’s Quality Policy and Quality Objectives
  • Ensure that the Company Quality Management System is effectively implemented
  • Ensure that corrective/preventive actions are implemented effectively as required


Senior Architect Experience:

  • Minimum 10-12 years overall experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognised university
  • Previous experience of working in a recognised Contracting Company
  • Proven track record of working on high profile residential and commercial projects
  • Strong experience in coordination of finishing works and management of interfacing disciplines
  • Strong experience in early design approvals through development of all stages of architecture including value engineering options
  • Registration with a professional board of Architects
