Senior Civil Engineer (Villas) - Consultancy - 2-3 Month Contract

Our leading multi-national Design and Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior Civil / Asst Resident Engineer to join their team in Dubai, UAE to work on a major new Villa build and masterplan project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Civil Engineer specialised in new build villa and masterplan projects in the UAE / GCC and have relevant Consultancy company background and experience.


This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 2-3 Month Contract position as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting.


Responsibilities:

  • The role involves to ensure response to necessary construction documentation, including but not limited to review of shop drawings, RFIs, and material submittals. To manage the efforts of the engineer/inspectors to ensure all documentation that is reviewed is than properly translated into a constructed product which meets requirements and specifications.
  • Monitoring the civil works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
  • Execute project design, documentation and contract administration services including regular project reviews
  • Reviewing, approving, and processing all civil technical submittals.
  • Answering RFIs related to civil works.
  • Coordinating and supervising the work of all civil activities and operations.
  • Reviewing contractor’s structural change order proposals and preparing recommendations to Infrastructural PM.
  • Liaison with the necessary sub consultants.
  • Reviewing contractors claims related to civil works and preparing recommendations for claims.
  • Reviewing the contractor’s project record documents relevant to their discipline.
  • Support Project Engineers/inspectors in completing projects in terms of program, profitability, technical risk management and overall Client satisfaction.
  • Calls for testing as required, analyzing laboratory and testing reports.
  • Assisting with the inspection of completed works and monitoring the startup, testing, commissioning, and handover of the civil works.
  • Signing off on completed works with completed documentation.
  • Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed, and materials used conform to specifications.
  • Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed in co-operation with the Health & Safety Engineer.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work co-operatively and jointly to provide a quality seamless service.
  • Deliver quality engineering and technical activities to achieve successful projects
  • Prioritize workloads whilst ensuring our Clients' needs are met whilst maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with your colleague's both locally and across the Stantec design and supervision team.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of service to Clients.


Senior Civil Engineer Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or Construction related field
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in new build projects
  • At least 5 years in the UAE and at least 3 of these with a recognised PMC or lead engineering consultancy.
  • Proven experience of driving delivery and handover of major villa and masterplan projects.
  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction related processes, as well as industry practices
  • Requires excellent written and oral English communication skills
  • Familiarity with software packages typically associated with Construction management
  • Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity on a program.
