Senior ELV Engineer - Consultancy

Our International Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for well experienced consultant Senior ELV Design Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on high profile mix use projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior ELV Design Engineer for large scale mixed use projects in the GCC.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.


Key Responsibilities:

  • The ELV Engineer essential functions and responsibilities are to assist the MEP and Project Manager in completing their tasks by reviewing all relevant documents and reporting of discrepancies and non-compliances of documents and executed works.
  • ELV engineer is also responsible of the full compliance with the electrical design intent, contract specifications and drawings.
  • ELV Engineer shall clarify any discrepancies in the design and ensure technical compliance of all designs which are directly or indirectly associated with their department.
  • The ELV Engineer is fully responsible for the quality and functionality of any design works related to his/her department.
  • Ensure technical compliance and functionality at set level of quality.
  • The ELV Electrical Engineer shall assist the Design Coordinator with the production of Electrical Services designs as required by the approval of change proposals or approved value engineering changes. This work shall only be completed provided it does not impact on the completion of site supervision duties associated with the tendered scheme.
  • The ELV Engineer shall supervise the production of CAD / BIM drawings .
  • The Electrical Engineer shall review on site all documentation  submittals received from the Contractor on the Electrical installation and shall work closely with the Mechanical Engineer to ensure that all services are coordinated.
  • The ELV Engineer shall report site progress to the Head of MEP on a regular basis.
  • The ELV Electrical Engineer shall work in a coordinated manner with the Security Services Specialist and Head of MEP, I.T Specialists. All services inspections shall be programmed by the Electrical Engineer.
  • The ELV Engineer shall assist the Senior Electrical to pursue their tasks, ensuring design is seamlessly conveyed to the site, transfer design intent and clarify discrepancies and to ensure technical compliance and functionality at set level of quality.
  • Lead assigned department, ensuring coordinated design information is provided from design team, monitoring activities and level of quality. Report any possible impact on quality time, cost or HSE to respective managers and assist technically in mitigation.
  • Reviewing design intent with design team. Review and comment on construction and shop drawings as well as other submittals by contractor, prepare replies to RFI's, preparing procedure for department review and comment on contractor’s plans.
  • Assist in ensuring its implementation within assigned department and in coordination with Senior Construction Manager, preparing dept section monthly report. Assist in reviewing contractor’s project control processes/procedures and reviewing and comment on contractor’s progress report,
  • Reviewing and comment on daily contractors report, reviewing contractor’s monthly valuations of work and updating regularly and maintain all required data; ensure proper and seamless documentation of all departmental processes.
  • The ELV Engineer should attend the meetings as assigned in the meeting matrix. Oversee site visits; coordinate regular site visits, coordinating irregular inspections. - Ensuring that engineering documents comply with applicable state laws / regulations.


Senior ELV Design Engineer Experience:

  • BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering
  • Managing and developing projects from concept stages to tender, client facing, scheduling and coordination with design teams and other disciplines.
  • Previous experience of working in a recognised consultancy or PMC business is essential
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects to time and budget,
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • An all-rounder with a key interest in having hands-on problem-solving approach.
  • Language skills: English (Must)
  • Excellent Revit, Auto Cad, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro and MS Office skill
