Senior Facade Design Engineer

Our Global Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Senior Facade Design Engineer to join their team in Dubai to work on high profile projects including high rise hotels and developments. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Facade Design Engineer for large scale projects in the GCC.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading Contracting Company in Dubai with a proven track record of building and infrastructure design and delivery across the Gulf. A range of projects are on offer for talented designers and engineers to collaborate on.
• Currently they seek a Senior Designer – Facade Engineering to join their team in Dubai.
• This designer will be responsible for Facade and building envelope system design.
• Utilising their ability to sketch, detail, and develop a Facade system design independently and contributing to Sketching and detailing of innovative facade systems and solutions.
• Carry out geometry analysis and 3D modelling of conventional and complex Facade systems.
• Carry out factory and site works inspections and formulate related progress reports.
• Assist in liaising with other parties involved on jobs; architects, engineers, contractors, etc.
• Prepare detailed shop drawings, sketches and schematic designs for aluminum and glass facades incorporating sustainability, solar energy, code regulations.
• Conduct site visits and contribute to RFQs and tenders.
• Participate in meetings with clients, architects, contractors and consultants.
• Produce analysis, reports, calculations, risk assessments and designs incorporating thermal, wind load, solar, daylight and condensation analyses.

Senior Facade Design Engineer Experience:

• This designer will have Minimum 8-10 years Facade design experience, with Facade consultants or Facade contractors.
• Post graduation of BSc/MSc in Architecture, Structural/Mechanical/Industrial/Building-Physics or other related engineering or technical field.
• Facade engineering courses or training CPDs is highly desirable. Experience in the Middle East/Gulf market is highly desirable.
• Have managed the concept and design development of facade systems independently in the past.
• Experience in bespoke Facade systems and geometrically complex buildings and structures
• Good knowledge of Facade engineering related building codes, standards, and good practice. BS and ASTM as priority.
• Knowledge of Ecotect and other Facade analysis related software would be highly advantageous.
• AutoCAD 2D, 3D latest versions. Rhino-Grasshopper/Revit/Inventor/or other similar parametric software are essential.
• Ability to produce conceptual 3D diagrams using 3DS Max, Sketchup, or other related software would be highly advantageous.
• Ability to free-hand sketch system designs.
