Senior Mechanical Engineer - PMC - 8 Month Contract

Our Global PMC Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Mechanical Engineer to join their team to work on Commercial, hospitality, healthcare and mixed use build projects in Abu Dhabi. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Consultant Mechanical Engineer for large scale projects in the GCC who have worked for a recognised PMC business previously

This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 8 month contract position employed as an outsourced engineer through J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

• To ensure response to necessary construction documentation, including but not limited to review of shop drawings, RFIs, and material submittals. Is to manage the efforts of the Mechanical inspectors to ensure all documentation that is reviewed is than properly translated into a constructed product which meets requirements and specifications. 
• Monitoring the Mechanical scope of works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
• Reviewing, approving and processing all Mechanical technical submittals.
• Answering RFI’s related to Mechanical.
• Coordinating and supervising the work of all Mechanical activities and operations.
• Reviewing contractor’s Mechanical change order proposals and preparing recommendations to MEP PM.
• Liaison with the necessary sub consultants.
• Reviewing contractors claims related to Mechanical works and preparing recommendations for claims.
• Reviewing the contractor’s project record documents relevant to their discipline.
• Managing the Mechanical inspectors.
• Analyzing laboratory and testing reports.
• Assisting with the inspection of completed works and monitoring the start-up, testing, commissioning and handover of the Mechanical works.
• Signing off on completed Mechanical works with completed documentation.
• Perform all other duties given by MEP PM.

Senior Mechanical Engineer Experience:

• Bachelor or Masters in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 12-15 years post undergraduate experience
• Proven related professional experience in a recognised consultancy company or Tier 1 PMC
• Strong technical background.
• Excellent knowledge of Mechanical systems, products and materials.
• Excellent knowledge of applicable Mechanical design and construction codes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent command of Microsoft Office business solution (Excel, Word).
• Ability to review and comment properly on necessary documentation.
• Excellent understanding of specifications and Authority requirements.
• Complete project understanding in given discipline, from start to hand-over.
