MEP Coordinator (French Speaking) - Tier 1 Contractor

This is a relocation opportunity for Fluent French speakers - the job is located in Benin, West Africa.

Our Multi National Tier 1 Civil Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced MEP Coordinator to join their team in Benin, West Africa

Successful candidates will have a proven background as an MEP Coordinator working for recognised Tier 1 Contracting Companies and must be fluent French speakers. The role is to work on a high profile hospitality and commercial use project and candidates MUST have had relevant experience in tier 1 civil contracting companies.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent employment opportunity with our client.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures execution of MEP requirements of the project as per instruction and program.
  • Monitor and ensure all the project specifications and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
  • Ensuring that the project MEP work is carried out in accordance with the required quality, cost and time constraints
  • Co-ordination and administration of MEP related material, equipment and drawing submittals in accordance to the specifications
  • Follow up closely procurement schedule and confirmations of delivery for material and equipment
  • Ensuring that MEP work is executed on site in accordance with the contract drawings, specifications, agreed procedures and method statements
  • Review, control and approval of MEP subcontractors work procedures and method statements
  • Carry out inspections on site and ensure that the installation is in accordance with the specification
  • Liaison with the Consultant’s MEP Supervisory Engineer, inspectors and relevant staff
  • Ensuring that the MEP subcontractor provides and adheres to the necessary control documentation in an orderly and organized way
  • Ensure that As Built Drawings and O&M Manuals and related documentation are prepared, reviewed, submitted and approved in a timely manner and in accordance with contract requirements
  • Checking that MEP valuations correspond with progress and checking of variations
  • Produce a report of performance of MEP-contractor
  • Preparation of coordinated reflected ceiling and builders work drawings.
  • Liaison with Govt. authorities for power/water/sewerage as per site requirements.


MEP Coordinator Experience:

  • At least Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Technical training in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical
  • Must have 8+ years work experience as MEP Coordinator or leader
  • MUST be a fluent French speaker
  • Must have relevant experience with a Main Civil Contracting Company
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with various levels of staff
