Senior MEP Engineer (Supervision) - Consultancy - 4 Month Contract

Our International Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Senior MEP Engineer (Supervision) to join their team in Dubai to work on a high profile new build project in Damman, KSA. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior MEP Engineer for large scale built projects in the GCC and have worked for a recognised consultancy company or PMC business previously.


This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 4 month contract position employed as an outsourced engineer through J10 Consulting.

The Project location is Damman, KSA - full UAE visa can be provided in addition to BV for KSA.


Key Responsibilities:

  • The Senior MEP Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices.
  • Experience in delivering MEP systems for building project.
  • Scheduling and coordination of project interactions among client, consultants, contractors, and local stakeholders.
  • Ability to integrate competing and/or conflicting elements into the planning and execution processes so that project requirements flow smoothly.
  • Experience and familiarity with Local Authorities procedural requirements, review requirements, and approval requirements.
  • Ability to manage interdisciplinary teams of professionals and supporting labor categories.
  • Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected third party client, design consultants, contractors and local stakeholders during the program execution following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
  • Manage the construction contractors during construction stage to ensure the adherence to the contract documents and established project's objectives.
  • May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
  • Supports the project management with the establishment of Project Design Management Plan, Project Execution Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
  • Establishes the program requirements for assigned project areas and is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of Project design briefs for team reference.
  • Third party design consultant's project KPIs and design deliverables in support of the design brief.
  • Administering value management and value engineering activities, and ensures design solutions fully address and incorporate MEP considerations for base build.
  • Works with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
  • Provides support in maintaining current and timely change orders associated with third party design consultants.
  • Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes.
  • Monitors and reports to the project management on the progress of all project design and construction activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule.
  • Participates in weekly progress meetings to review project status and formulate action items


Senior MEP Engineer (Supervision) Experience:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering and will be experienced in the design review and construction supervision of the built environment
  • You will have demonstrable experience of delivering projects from concept through completion in a multi-disciplinary and/or multi-office project execution environment for a recognised consultancy in the GCC
  • You will be an experienced user of MEP engineering software
  • You will have a solid background knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software, with ability to carry out coordination through Revit.
  • You will have the ability to undertake MEP inspections and report on material and construction defects and provide guidance for remedial repairs.
  • A can do, hands on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritize workload to meet project needs
  • Willing and quick to adapt to project/team needs and learn from experience
