Senior Planning Engineer - Contractor - Ivory Coast

Our multi national Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join their MENA team. The role is project based in North Africa in Ivory Coast. Successful candidates will have extensive Project Planning experience with a proven background of contracting experience on high rise civil construction projects over 100mln USD.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent employment opportunity.


Responsibilities:

  • Senior Planning engineer shall develop the most suitable and economically viable construction and engineering methods for projects, for an important high rise building project in the Ivory Coast. The Civil Planner should be familiar with civil construction works related to high rise projects. Involved throughout the development stages, and present on site during the build to oversee procedures. It is the responsibility of the planning engineer to estimate a timescale for a project and to ensure that the outlined deadlines are met. Shall work closely with site managers and other engineers to ensure a project runs on schedule and that material supplies are sufficient.
  • Deciding on the most appropriate engineering techniques and sequences of activities for each project stage
  • Drawing plans; using specialised software packages.
  • Ensuring plans meet the client’s specifications
  • Making estimations for timescales and costs
  • Supervising the project at all stages and providing solutions to problems
  • Collaborating with site managers, surveyors, engineers, site worker and other professionals
  • Ensuring procedures are carried out safely


Senior Planning Engineer Requirements:

Mandatory Requirements

  • The role requires a proven track record of delivering high rise civil construction projects with a value of in excess of USD 100 Mln.
  • University degree in an appropriate field.
  • Excellent communication skills in English & French, written and spoken
  • 10 + years of relevant experience
  • FIDIC Contract experience

Desirable requirements

  • Evidence of suitable professional qualification or equivalent is preferable
  • Background in Major Contracting Company.
  • Experience of working in MENA (5+ years minimum) and / or the North African region as a whole would be beneficial.
