Senior Planning Engineer (Pre & Post Contract) - PMO / PMC

Our Multi National Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Consultant Senior Planning / Project Controls Engineer to join their PMO team in Dubai to work on Hospitality build and refurbishment projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a pre contract PMO Planning / Project Controls Engineer on a mix of civil construction, refurbishment and fit out projects in the UAE and have a proven track record of working in recognised consultancy or PMC Companies.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-level & detailed programmes in P6 for Reporting and Client Presentations
- Propose project delivery/procurement strategies in accordance with time constraints and demonstrate pros/cons for each option
- Track and control design deliverables, contractor deliverables, statutory process
- Track/control sub-contractor tendering & evaluations, working closely with PM/CM team and Client’s procurement team
- Assess and challenge consultant/contractor programmes
- Develop and prepare various reports on progress and cost status
- Claim/delay analysis/assessment
- Work with Commercial team to track/control budgets, change management, cash flow, etc.
- Administer contracts in relation to programme
- Ensure proactive project planning, stakeholder relations, and risk management takes place across projects
Senior Planning Engineer Experience:
- Minimum B.Sc degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience and at least 2 in a recognised consultancy or PMC company in Pre Contract / PMO Capacity
- Demonstrable experience of Construction, refurbishment and fit-out projects.
- Detailed understanding of statutory authorities, processes, and time frames for approvals in Abu Dhabi;
- Candidates will demonstrate that they can not only use the software (eg Primavera P6) but understand how to plan, have chaired necessary workshops with functional managers, that they can articulate the plan to senior managers and have wider quantitative project controls experience.
- Good Understanding of Critical Path and Delay Analysis Techniques and can perform time impact and claim analysis.
- Certification in planning and scheduling of projects and in using Primavera applications (Primavera Project Management / P6 and Primavera Contract Management / Expedition)
