Senior Procurement Engineer - Main Contractor

Our Multi National Main Civil Contractor client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior Procurement Engineer with a proven background in Tier 1 Contracting Companies to join their team in Jeddah, KSA to work on multiple new high profile projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Procurement Engineer specialising in large scale civil construction projects in the Kingdom or wider GCC. Candidates MUST have a Civil Engineering background and relevant experience of working in a Tier 1 Main Civil Contracting Company.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Candidates responsibilities will include Leading negotiations with suppliers, managing purchasing and tracking orders, creating and maintaining the inventory, quality assurance and liaising with inventory teams and management.
  • The Procurement Manager will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.
  • The Procurement Manager should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to budget.
  • Knowledge of estimation and tendering is essential
  • Candidates must have experience in large scale high and low rise Residential, Commercial & Hospitality Projects.
  • Must have experience in Project Tendering and organizing Scope Breakdown Structures of Large scale Projects.
  • Expert in material specifications, integrating BOQ's and compiling tender documents for invitations to bid.
  • Strong technical background and experienced in market research and analysis for innovative solutions and emerging trends in the industry.
  • Capable of reaching out and dealing/negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors locally and internationally.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
  • Process requisitions and update senior management on status of orders.
  • Manage inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
  • Manage transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
  • Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required.
  • Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.


Senior Procurement Engineer - Tier 1 Contractor Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or similar relevant subject
  • Minimum 10 years post graduate experience at least 5 in the GCC
  • Profiles with Tier 1 Contracting Company background will be preferred for this role
  • Working knowledge of software packages typically associated with procurement
  • Strong Estimation and tendering experience is essential
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
