Senior Procurement Engineer (Sub-Contracts) - Main Contractor

Our International Main Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior Procurement Engineer with strong experience in Sub-Contract procurement to join their team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Procurement Engineer working for a recognised main contracting company on large scale new build civil construction projects and sub-contract procurement. Only candidates with a proven track record with recognised Main Contractors will be considered.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed directly by our client.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing of A2Z sub contractor services and goods (Consumables, Chemicals, Spares, PPEs, Machinery and tools, etc.) and services (Manpower hire, AMCs, plant and equipment hire, indirect categories, etc.)
  • Supervision of Procurement officers on day to day procurement activities.
  • Tracking and periodic reporting on the KPIs of the procurement officers.
  • Review and improve the RFQ input received from the operations team.
  • Sourcing of competent vendors using vendor evaluation process.
  • Sending RFI / RFQ for goods and services, with relevant terms and conditions.
  • Preparation of Commercial Bid Evaluation with the offers received.
  • Negotiation of prices, terms & conditions with at most competency.
  • Procurement of goods & services with competency and addressing the risks.
  • Preparation of Contract and Purchase Orders.
  • Lead the Kick-off meetings and other communication with the vendors and internal stake-holders.
  • Preparation of MIS reports.
  • Vendor evaluation and development; administration of vendor database in accordance with processes
  • Ensure compliance of procurement activities with the Policies of the organization.
  • Contributes to the improvement of processes (REX) and guarantees implementation on his / her scope.
  • Enforces, adheres and upholds the law, behaving ethically with all the stakeholders.
  • Respects all Group policies (HSE, Ethics...) and compliance with internal reporting rules.


Senior Procurement Engineer (Sub Contracts) Experience:

  • Minimum BSc in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related
  • 5–10 years of experience in procurement, specializing in subcontractor packages.
  • Exceptional technical assessment skills for subcontractor packages.
  • Extensive technical knowledge, particularly in civil engineering.
  • Proven experience in subcontracting procurement.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail.
  • Understanding of subcontracts and legal requirements.
