Senior Quantity Surveyor - Consultancy

Our Multi National Supervision Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Riyadh, KSA to work on high profile new projects across the Kingdom. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on large scale civil construction projects in KSA and the wider GCC. Only candidates with a background in recognised PMC, Supervision or Cost Consultancy businesses will be considered.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Commercial/Contracts Manager in all matters relating to the financial and contractual aspects of the project.
- Provide support to the Commercial/Contracts Manager on all financial and contractual matters throughout the course of the work in the project.
- Participate and assist in the preparation of the minutes in all commercial meetings as required.
- Liaise with the Commercial/Contracts Manager to ensure prompt submittal and completeness of Contractors monthly payment applications and assist the Commercial/Contracts Manager in finalizing the payment certificates, performing and checking of measurement of Work for: a) Interim Payments, b) Work executed against Provisional Sums and c) Variations.
- Maintain and streamline all cost and quantity records.
- Undertake measurement procedures and calculation of interim and final quantities in consultation with RE’s.
- Evaluate the unit rates for new work items, recording the details and monitoring the day works process, assisting in preparing variation orders and in evaluating claims and present to the Commercial/Contracts Manager for review.
- Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of entitlement of Contractors claims for review and issuance by the Commercial/Contracts Manager.
- Assist on contractual matters related to financial issues.
- Ensure completeness and validity of all contractual requirements.
- Assist the Commercial/Contracts Manager in the preparation of financial statements for monthly report.
- Assist in the auditing of payments to Contractors as required.
- Check and record measurements of completed work.
- Monitor contract final cost estimate.
- Assist in the preparation of Final Account with all supporting documentation.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or similar relevant subject
- Minimum 8 years post graduate experience
- MRICS status preferred
- Previous Middle East experience in a recognised Cost Consultancy or PMC is essential
- Proven ability to work independently and under pressure, while using good judgment, when making Program related decisions that drive project delivery forward.
- Possess the exceptional interpersonal skills required to productively collaborate, negotiate, reach consensus and finalize project decisions.
- Commitment to excellence and possessing high expectations for the position, the PMO and the entire client program.
- Ability to manoeuver in a culturally diverse and dynamic environment.
- Ability to comfortably and knowledgably manage throughout all phases of the Program including planning, procurement, design, and construction phase
