Senior Quantity Surveyor - Contracting - Ivory Coast

Our multi national Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their MENA team. The role is project based in North Africa in Ivory Coast. Successful candidates will have extensive Senior Quantity Surveyor experience with a proven background of contracting experience on high rise civil construction projects over 100mln USD.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and check quantity measurements from the field and Prepare the Quantity Survey Reports
• Prepare monthly Contractor’s interim payment certificate and preparation of final account
• Provide the required technical support, assistance and advice on all aspects of quantity surveying activities covering measurement, certification and payments
• Assist in the interpretation of the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents, and analysis of any claims which may be submitted by the contractor.
• Liaise on behalf of the Resident Engineer with the Ministry to ensure full compliance with the Ministry’s procedures on all matters relating to the administration of financial affairs of the construction contract.
• Ensure that full documentation and records are maintained in the Engineer’s office facility to properly substantiate all Interim and Final Payments to the contractor to a standard acceptable to the Ministry.
• Prepare and produce of Variation Orders
• Review claims submitted by the contractor
• Coordinate and direct the work of all quantity surveying staff in the execution of the various duties covering measurement, certification, and payment for the Contract

Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

Mandatory Requirements

• The role requires a proven track record of delivering high rise civil construction projects with a value of in excess of USD 100 Mln.
• University degree in an appropriate field.
• Excellent communication skills in English & French, written and spoken
• 10 + years of relevant experience
• FIDIC Contract experience

Desirable requirements

• Evidence of suitable professional qualification or equivalent is preferable
• Background in Major Contracting Company.
• Experience of working in MENA (5+ years minimum) and / or the North African region as a whole would be beneficial.
