Senior Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) - Consultancy

Our Multi National Project & Cost Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on build, fit out and refurbishment projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a good mix of pre contract and post contract Quantity Surveying experience ideally with a recognised consultancy company background. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, MRICS would be advantageous. The role will involve some travel between Emirates in line with project requirements.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed with our client.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Contract
- Project Budget services (direct, indirect, margins, markups and overheads).
- Feasibility studies (cost per key, cost per m2 etc.);
- Cost Planning and estimating (BCIS and NRM1);
- Value Engineering, cash flow forecasts, Whole Life Costing, cost risk management;
- Bills of Quantities production (NRM 2, POMI and CESSM3);
- Tender services including compilation, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations;
- Contract drafting (FIDIC).
Post Contract
- Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs;
- Interim valuations and payment certificates;
- Variations analysis, recommendations and management;
- Risk and value management and cost control functions;
- Costs analysis project work;
- Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks;
- Preparation of progress/ cost reports;
- Reporting to Senior Commercial Manager on all commercial issues;
- Understanding the implications of authorities regulations and health and safety regulations;
- Attendance and representation at commercial meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Direct Manager
Senior Quantity Surveyor Experience:
- BSC in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution preferred
- MRICS is preferred
- Experience in new build, fit out and refurbishment projects is a must;
- Minimum of 10-12 years’ post graduation experience;
- Minimum of 3 years’ UAE, experience in a recognised cost consultant or PMC Company
- Knowledge in the use of QS software or similar is required;
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
- Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
