Senior Urban Designer - 3 Month Contract

Our International Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Senior Urban Designer to join their team in Dubai, UAE at a high profile project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Urban Designer on large scale projects in the UAE and the wider GCC.

This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting..

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all phases of the design process including Concept, Schematic and Detailed Design Documentation, writing specification, report,
• 3D modelling, submittals & permitting, hardscape and plant material selection.
• Deliver entire technical landscape packages independently with review from senior team.
• Organization of project materials & information according to Design Process.
• Coordinate with all disciplines and sub-consultants.
• Communicate with highly effective questions and problem-solving skills.
• Manages, coordinates, and leads urban design projects independently with less oversight.
• Participate in Technical Design workshops / Design charettes.
• Leads the in production of project design reports and Detailing.
• Provide urban design solutions from Concept to DD.
• Must have worked / completed Landscape projects using Revit.
• Understands all applicable UAE authorities’ requirements and coordinates with various discipline’s technical inputs into a project.
• Coordinating with design Engineers for resolution of related issues.

Senior Urban Designer Experience:

• BSc In Architecture or Landscape Contracting
• A minimum of 8 years professional experience with local and international consultancies across small to large-scale master planning and landscape projects
• Proven skills and understanding of urban design concepts, forms, scales and typologies, as well as local building codes and regulations
• Clear understanding of local and international construction methodologies and design regulations implemented in master planning and landscape projects
• Undertake Job Management role, including but not limited to job/ fee estimate, program preparation and forecasting
• Highly proficient using AutoCAD 2018 or higher, Sketch up or Revit, InDesign Adobe illustrator, Lumion or 3DS Max
• Strong design and presentation skills, including freehand drawings and use of Photoshop and In Design
• Ability to complete accurate deliverables to a high standard and within a timely manner, including drawings, reports, models and calculations where applicable
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary practice
• Ability to understand his / her own project programme requirements with regards to timeline and fees
• Proficient with Microsoft office packages
• Excellent English communication skills – both oral and written
• Good Business Acumen and Client Relationship Skills
