Site Engineer (Base Build and Fit out) - Contractor

Our Regional Main Contracting client has a new requirement for well a experienced Site Engineer to join their team in Dubai working on Civil Build and interior Fit Out projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Site Engineer working on similar project typologies involving build and surrounding civil works in the UAE and have relevant contracting company background for recognised contracting companies previously


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed by our client.


Key Responsibilities:

  • The Site Engineer reports lo the Site Manager/Project Manager when required, and is responsible to him for execution, co-ordination, planning and monitoring for the contract under his supervision.
  • The Site Engineer is to liaise with client and consultant's representatives when required. All subcontractors and suppliers are to report to the Site Manager or Site Engineer. The Site Engineer is to ensure that he fully controls all operations and personnel on the site in conjunction with the Site Manager.
  • Ability to draw the Construction Programme and Labour Forecast indicating numbers on a weekly or a monthly basis.
  • Ability to draw and develop the temporary Site establishment layout and mobilization.
  • Ability to create Method Statement for formwork and scaffolding and limited specialist activities in relation to the budget.
  • Building permits, demarcation certificate and NOC's (when required). Planning. Monitoring & Procurement
  • Ordering (where applicable), storage and usage of all approved construction materials
  • Control progress, maintain a site diary, mark up displayed site office programme weekly and ensure that the contract is completed on time.
  • Control all sub-contractors in terms of progress and adherence to drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure correct setting out and provide line and level lo enable works lo be built correctly.
  • Assist in the production of internal gangs based on productivity rates and programme.
  • Maintain records of variations with copies of instructions, plans, invoices etc. to fully substantiate a claim.
  • Produce monthly valuations and subcontractor’s liabilities in conjunction with the Site Manager.
  • Maintain a PO file, processing of delivery notes and check all invoices before processing at Head Office.
  • Dubai Municipality Procedures (when required).
  • Quality control and reporting procedures in accordance with company Manual.
  • Maintain time sheets.
  • Ensure the site complies with the company safely policy, particularly with regard to safe scaffolding and facilities.
  • Assist with the Final Account and prepare detailed productivity feedback report for the Estimating Dept.
  • Assist with preparation of as- built drawings and documents. 


Site Engineer Experience:

  • A degree or HNC/HND in a construction-related or engineering discipline.
  • Communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals, such as construction managers, quantity surveyors, subcontractors, architects, designers, other engineers
