Solar Energy Manager - Developer

Our Green Energy Developer client has a new requirement for a well experienced Solar Energy Manager to join their team in Dubai, UAE to work on Major new Solar Energy Projects in the UAE and MENA region. Successful candidates will have extensive Solar and Project Management experience in Solar Energy, renewable hydrogen and ammonia Projects.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire opportunity employed directly with our client.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of large-scale Renewable Hydrogen and Ammonia project developments in the Middle East and Australia.
  • Working with a global team of experts in their respective fields, you will be interfacing with partners, internal and external stakeholders in the preparation of array layout, tendering of supply and construction of the solar energy part of GW scale projects.
  • You will be involved in critical input for the design of the overall power system. The team will rely on you as a subject matter expert for solar energy.
  • You have a can-do attitude, are consultative, able to prioritise your work and get things done within an environment of a diverse set of stakeholders’ requirements.
  • This role requires you to be able to travel within the MENA region.
  • Furthermore, you will have proven track record of:
  • Being a well organised self-starter with the ability of managing concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
  • Working successfully with stakeholders within a partnership development environment.
  • Engaging and managing external consultants to perform specialist tasks and complete work in a timely manner in accordance with project scopes and schedules.
  • Experience producing and reviewing engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Experience in developing proposals for work, including budgets, appropriate contractual terms, and undertaking negotiations on scope and price with OEMs and contractors
  • Hands on experience across the project lifecycle from concept design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Working with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of the solar system within larger projects. 


Solar Energy Manager Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable qualifications combined with project management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal English and/or Arabic
  • 6-10 years’ experience in a similar role developing large scale solar projects for either a developer or OEM/EPC contractor giving you an in-depth knowledge of site design and permitting, as well as construction costs, methodologies & efficiencies
  • BESS, wind or green hydrogen experience in combination with the above solar experience would be considered favourably
  • Good understanding of electrical Power systems
  • Experience utilising wind, solar and/or battery plant modelling tools (e.g., WindFarmer, WindPRO, Homer, PVsyst, SQL).
  • Experience with Geographic Information System (GIS) software packages (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, Global Mapper).
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
