Structural Design Engineer (Facades) - Contractor - 3 Month Contract

Our Leading Facade Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Structural Design Engineer specialised in Facades to join their team in Ras Al Khaimah to work on prestigious new projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Structural Design Engineer (Facades) on large scale high rise hospitality and residential projects in the UAE.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 3 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • As an already accomplished Structural Engineer you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the design, coordination, specification, code compliance of the facades structural engineering.
  • Carry out structural engineering calculations for structural facades as required for the project.
  • Provide input to Designers and Draftsmen for preparation of drawings, review and check the drawings and guide the designers.
  • Interact and coordinate with other disciplines for input, other information as required for proper completion of work, and also interact and Meet Client, Vendors and Other Third Parties, if required, for the project requirements.
  • Review and check design calculations, drawings, to ensure technical correctness and conformance to project requirements, including review of 3-D model
  • Excellent communication skills essential for interdisciplinary and interoffice coordination
  • Proven experience in designing iconic, landmark buildings and structures projects.


Structural Design Engineer (Facades) Experience:

  • Bachelor’s and / or Masters Degree in Structural Engineering from a reputed university.
  • 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in design and engineering of facades.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in design and detailed engineering of iconic buildings.
  • Experience in high rise hospitality and residential projects is essential
  • Familiarity with local/regional standards and international standards AISC, ACI, ASTM, European Standards, DIN, and standard industry practices.
  • Proficiency working in 3-D environment (Revit);
  • Proficiency in use of software like STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM Connect, MS-Office Suite, MathCAD, Revit
