Technical Engineer - Main Contractor - 3-6 Month Contract

Our International Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Technical Engineer to join their team in Dubai to work on high profile new build projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Technical Engineer with strong knowledge in Architectural and Structural working and process working on high profile projects in the UAE with preference given to those with prior experience working for recognised Main Contracting Companies


This role is available for immediate joining and is hiring on a temporary to permanent basis as an initial 6 month contract position, outsourced through J10 Consulting, with the option to transfer to staff after 6 months to suit all parties.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the technical aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Reviewing project plans and blueprints to identify potential issues and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve any technical issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Managing and maintaining project documentation, including drawings, contracts, and change orders.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Assisting in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to project teams, including resolving any technical problems that arise during construction.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry best practices and new technologies to enhance project efficiency and quality.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project success.


Technical Engineer Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil / Structural Engineering or Architecture
  • Minimum 5 years in civil construction, ideally at least 2 years previous experience in a recognised UAE main contractor company.
  • Experience in Technical Aspects of civil construction is essential
  • Proven track record of bridging the gap between the design and project teams to ensure constructability
  • Strong working knowledge of project management software, AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, and the MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and the capacity to negotiate and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Adaptability, ability to work under pressure, accepting to change, managing change at work.
