Translator - English / Arabic - Consultancy Experienced.

Our multi-national Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced English / Arabic Translator to join their team in Doha, Qatar. Successful candidates will have extensive Translation experience on large scale PPP projects including Education & Healthcare facilities.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the translation of various documents and letter primarily from English to Arabic or vice versa as required by the CMU;
• Act as an interpreter in meetings; if required;
• Establish and maintain the Project Translation Register
• Reads through or listens to material in one language, ascertains understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and converts it into a second language, making sure to preserve the original meaning;
• Consults with subject matter experts and other colleagues to understand specialised concepts and translate them appropriately;
• Refers to online translation tools for additional assistance with translation;
• Follows up with clients to ensure satisfaction and understanding;
• Adheres to industry quality standards established by the Association of Translation Companies to ensure that all completed work follows legal and ethical obligations;
• Translates a variety of documents including literary, legal, research, technical, scientific, educational, and commercial materials.

Translator Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience post graduation ideally in a similar environment with experience in major infrastructure or building projects or programmes;
• Understanding of grammar, knowledge of specific subjects, accuracy, attention to detail, software proficiency;
• Motivation, ability to meet deadlines;
• Demonstrable track record in the working within a large team with multidisciplinary projects and within governmental departments;
• Strong communication skills both orally and written to build and maintain excellent working relationships within complex structures, both internally and with various project stakeholders.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in translation services with some previous technical experience on construction projects;
• Experience of working on PPP projects or large developmental projects;
• Bachelor's Degree, Fluency in at Least Two Languages (English & Arabic are must), written and verbal communication.
• Experience of working in Qatar and/or the Gulf region
