Utilities Draughtsman (Civil 3D) - 3 Month Contract

Our Global Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Civil Infrastructure / Utilities Draughtsman specialising in Civil 3D to join their team in Abu Dhabi, UAE at a large scale Infrastructure project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Utilities Draughtsman with an International Consultancy on large scale Infrastructure projects in the UAE or GCC


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 3-month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with discipline engineers to develop detailed design drawings
  • Project BIM/CAD setup, multi-discipline project CAD coordination
  • Preparation of Basic Plant / Site layouts, General arrangement drawings, Pipeline longitudinal sections, Process and Instrumentation diagrams, Hydraulic profile etc.
  • Develop Revit Models for Civil, Infrastructure & Utilities
  • Develop Civil 3D model for gravity and pressure mains
  • To understand design and drafting systems and standards followed by Clients and implement in work.
  • Accurate and timely preparation of documentation including but not limited to drawings, models, estimates, schedules, quantities all as directed by a Project Engineer to a standard of presentation which can be submitted to clients or other approval authority
  • Liaising with both internal and external parties such as Regional Offices, other Groups, sub-consultants, contractors, clients and external authorities as directed by a Project Engineer
  • Process and action correspondence in accordance with the company procedure
  • Preparation of drawings and models in accordance with the company’s BIM manual
  • Checking of drawings
  • Undertake duties and comply with all the company’s Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures
  • Attend courses/seminars which will enhance professional knowledge, with a view to advancing your career


Infrastructure Draughtsman Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in Infrastructure and utilities
  • Consultancy company experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Proficient in use AutoCAD / Civil 3D / Microstation latest versions (2D drafting / 3D modelling) / Revit Architecture / Structural Modelling.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Utilities Networks for both wet and dry utilities
  • Data / Document management system experience
  • Good team player.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
