VP - Portfolio Excellence Lead

Our global Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Portfolio Excellence Lead to join their team in Riyadh, KSA at a high profile project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Portfolio Excellence Lead on large scale civil construction projects in KSA and the wider GCC.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.


Key Responsibilities:

  • The VP Portfolio excellence lead requires the professional depth of experience of program & project management, construction management, quality management and health & safety. In addition, knowledge of all elements of Civil and infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and oversee portfolio that doing the right work including development , engineering , construction management ,planning, preparation and implementation, support internal coordination and external outreach efforts, and represent the client on technical and policy advisory groups.
  • The VP Portfolio excellence lead is responsible for assignments that are highly complex and sensitive in nature, where substantial judgment and initiative are essential in making recommendations and resolving problems relative to planning , development and execution. This includes, but is not limited to creating and evaluating technical related  policy, regulations, standards and guidelines.  
  • The VP Portfolio excellence lead will lead a team to deliver the required portfolio excellence office support.
  • S/He will support and evaluate portfolio performance, support internal coordination and external outreach efforts, and represent the client as needed. 
  • S/He will ensure portfolio achieving strategic goals by provide the required technical advise in selecting, prioritizing, assessing, and managing projects, programs, and other related work based upon their alignment and contribution to the organization's strategies and objectives.
  • S/He will Act as CoE focal point with RE projects portfolio and ensure integration and streamlining of CoE sections efforts in supporting programs development.
  • S/He will review and streamline best practices & lesson learned sharing among programs.
  • S/He will oversee the program development process from a technical prospective.
  • S/He will evaluate performance & compliance with DMO process and process any escalation.
  • Participate in program committees (BoD,Excom, Procurement ,Claim,Jury,SC..).
  • S/He will oversight Management of Change and Conduct site visits as needed 
  • Oversee relevant portfolio management process from technical perspective including strategic alignment , governance management excellency , performance management , communication & risk management.
  • Develop and lead a regular evaluation and cold eye review program for under execution projects.
  • Perform site visits to ensure construction performance as per approved procedures in term of construction management, progress , site logistics , inter discipline coordination , and implementation of approved design.
  • Provide general planning assistance to the Project technical management Team, including input, review and comment on construction plans, studies and reports.
  • Performance Review and report on project, program progress and deliverables in term of scope , quality , schedule ,budget , resources and risks


VP - Portfolio Excellence Lead Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • Certified Project Management Professional status or member of equivalent institution
  • Successfully led numerous complex, large scale Project Management Construction Management programmes across a range of Client types and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Possess 15+ years' experience in delivering fully coordinated, multi-disciplinary Project Management and Construction Management projects of which minimum 5 years should be in a recognised international consultancy.
  • Proven working experience in program /project & construction management
  • Advanced knowledge of planning & construction management processes, means and methods
  • knowledge of Infrastructure projects, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
