Waste Management Lead - 4 Month Contract

Our Semi Governmental client has a new requirement for a well experienced, Waste Management Lead to join their team in Dubai, UAE. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Waste Management Lead for an FM Service Provider or Consultancy company on large scale projects and contracts, ideally experience in Major Events or similar projects in the UAE / GCC.
This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 4 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management of the Waste Management Services across the site and supporting the Zone Management and Operations Support Services team with the management of waste across the site
- Provides strategic input to the day to day site operating plan
- Collaborate with other functional areas, such as Ceremonies, International Participants, Security and Venue Management
- on ensuring a seamless delivery of Waste Management Services
- Act as the focal point for Waste Management activities
- Ensure contractual compliance of the Waste Management Partner that extends into monitoring Key Performance Indicator’s and resolving performance gaps, implementing penalties and/or incentive awards and managing contract scope variations
- Management of the Waste Management team
- Assist with the mentoring of Waste Management staff
- Ensure implementation and adherence for all site wide teams in ensuring the waste requirements of temporary structures across the site
- Integrate with other Event Operations Functional Areas for the management of the zone during operations e.g. cleaning and maintenance of the venues, logging of issues and tracking of resolution using the appropriate information technology system
- Lead the team responsibly and proficiently, providing effective line management to direct reports
- Set objectives and evaluate performance of individual direct reports and actively manage key personnel issues
- Ensure that all staff acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate learning and development programs
- Provide visible leadership to the team and across the organization to key stakeholders
Waste Management Lead Experience:
- University/college degree
- 8+ years’ experience, two years of which were in a similar role working within a highly dynamic and complex environment, with specific experience related to Waste Management Services operations
- Understanding Waste Management Services operational dependencies, impact on other functions and non-operational directorates
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural organisation, GCC region
- Experience in working with senior level Government partners and multi-agency stakeholders
- Programme/ project manager experience supporting large complex projects
- Experience with contract procurement from tender design to execution and management
