Workshop Manager - Fit Out & Joinery

Our multi national Events and exhibitions contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Workshop & Production Manager to head up their Fit Out production facility in Riyadh, KSA. Successful candidates will have extensive workshop management experience on all size and fast-track fit out projects in the GCC.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

Co-leading the dedicated production and project management for the fit out factory in a way that combines the strengths of the leadership team in order to ensure sustained success in production and delivering the projects, while maintaining best-practice and world-class reputation for the company.

The projects mostly entail impressive temporary and semi permanent fit out and refurbishment builds for entertainment and hospitality projects. They can be extremely fast track and chaotic. Emotional intelligence, Resourceful, creative problem solving, endless positive energy, high flexibility, spirited leadership, strong communication skills and entrepreneurial spirit are key for success. This job needs a true maestro.

High technical skills providing specification and details of materials & fit out works application methodologies to meet the approved design and samples, scaled models & mock-ups.

Provide design input for the most efficient & cost-effective production techniques -Liaise & take direction from the client's Project Director to gain a detailed understanding of the client's requirements & expectations

Manage & coordinate the production to delivery of all fit out works for several projects, in off-site fabrication facilities & on the construction site.

Play the leading role in supply chain management in interviewing & hiring sub-contractors, workers & suppliers. 

Attendance at project meetings & site construction meetings

Workshop Manager Requirements:

• BSC Engineering Architectural, Scenography Fine Arts, or equivalent certificate.
• 10+ years’ experience in production and delivery management executing fit out & refurbishment projects with an understanding of multiple disciplines including woodwork, metal, painting and printing.
• Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, equipment maintenance
• Ability to manage a team in excess of 100 in-house staff in addition to managing external production resource.
• Strong skills in reading drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others
• Very good in communication and reports aligned with the ability to manage multiple projects and integrate with stakeholders to establish site requirements and sequential delivery.
• Strong leadership and stamina for problem-solving with positive approach
